rustic meets mod

SOLD
Please still let us know if you are interested in us making another!

looking for a great christmas idea for that girl with too many earrings??  look no further! here is a stunning way to display all your favorite accessories. rustic and shabby wood paired with a cool, geometric patterned screen makes a perfect home for your jewelry.

and for the record...you can never have too many earrings.

fun, fabulous and functional
i used to store all my earrings in one giant makeup bag. so whenever i needed a pair, i would pick up the giant, tangled mess of jewels and frantically search and unhook each earring. you know, since earrings are always the last thing i haphazardly throw on as i'm running out the door.

thankfully, this ritual no longer happens. all my earrings are happily smiling at me, separated into neat, little pairs, while hooked onto an earring display frame. a frame very similar to this one here. (okay okay, i might have three of these frames...like i said...never enough earrings...)

a closer view of the details
this particular frame is 20 x 24 inches and hangs on the wall. not only is it functional, but it makes a great piece of wall art!

we are selling this lovely display frame for $25, so please email us at therusticjade@gmail.com if you are interested in purchasing it. hannah and i have been busy little bees lately, and have been creating more and more items that will eventually be up in our rustic jade shop. we would be happy to create a custom color and size of frame for anyone who is interested, as we understand that everyone has their own preferences. prices may vary, depending on the size of frame and materials used.

with the christmas season nearing quickly, this would make someone very happy:) 'cause everyone loves a handmade gift, right?

xoxo,
maggie

i need some feedback. is this cute? do you like the color? pattern? hate it? please share:)

sweet dreams

check out what i have been working on for the past few weeks:

this is the 'before' (yay for remembering to take this picture!):

and this is the 'after':

i couldn't be happier with the outcome of this bed.  the moment i bought it, i envisioned painting it yellow and the color came out perfect. i "staged" my dining room (thanks rach, for letting me use your throw pillow and blow up mattress!) to get the full effect of how the bed would looked completely finished. i loved the yellow against my deep brown wall!

i think this bed could work for any room. pair with some navy and grey for a little boy's room, or with coral pink for a sweet, little girl's room (i definitely contemplated this for P, but i've got other plans on the horizon for her new bed). but my favorite option is doing it up using greys and whites for a chic master or guest room. that color combo is all the rage right now and i have jumped on the bandwagon! i don't have much yellow in my house, but that may be changing soon:)

i love it so much, that i hate to part with it, but there is just no room for a full size bed in my house at this time.so here is your chance to make this amazing transformation of a bed YOURS! yep, i'm selling it:)

here is the link to my craigslist ad:

Junk? Yes, Please!

This past weekend, Maggie and I had some fun celebrating our birthdays (we are only two weeks apart!). We had tried to get together with all of our girl friends, but it seems that everyone is just so crazy busy this time of year! No worries though, it gave Maggie and I the time to try a restaurant we've been wanting to for a long time (but our schedules just don't usually allow), La Mie Bakery, and to hit up some garage sales! The bakery was great, but we both decided we need to go back to try breakfast next time--their options looked sooo good!

As far as garage sales...we only had luck at one, but we hit the jackpot! Wanna see our finds?

We had lots of fun literally digging through everything. The stuff wasn't very organized, but as we started putting our pile together, people were making comments. Even the ladies we bought it from said something a long the lines of, "well, when you put it all together like that, it looks pretty cool!" :)

It's difficult to see, but the fans are a greenish  (jade!) color...so cute.

The crate is a "SNOBOY" crate. We had no idea what that was, but we thought it looked cool! Come to find out, it's a produce company established in 1925! Pretty vintage, folks!

Below is a closer view of the fan (sorry they need cleaned up a little!). The blue thing (does anyone know what this is?? I have seen them before and thought someone had told me once that they are from railroad tracks??) was not found at the garage sale, but at another stop we made later in the afternoon. I think I am going to see what it looks like with a fake flame lit underneath?!

Huh. Didn't get any pictures with Mag--we need to get better at taking pictures of us junkin'!
Anyway, be looking for these items to be under our "rustics for sale" tab very soon! Please let us know if you are interested in any! (therusticjade@gmail.com)

Love,
Hannah
